Artown on the Quad: four performances in July on the University campus

Artown, in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno, will host four performances on the University Quad on Tuesday nights throughout July. The events are sponsored by the University and the Edna B. and Bruno Benna Foundation.

Admission is free and all performances are open to the public. Seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with performances starting at 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Free parking is available in the Brian Whalen garage (only after 5:00 p.m.) for each show.

Performances include:

July the 5th

Reno’s Downtown Dance Collective will present “Destination Dance”, a dance tour focusing specifically on certain venues around the University Quad.

July 12

University alumnus Ruth Lenz, Reno Philharmonic and Reno Chamber Orchestra violinist, and member of the Classical Tahoe Orchestra, will perform “String Theory.”

July 19

Brian Landrus, University Alumnus and Internationally Acclaimed Lowwind Artist will perform. The event will include free food and drink.

July 26

Jammal Tarkington, locally known and widely traveled artist and saxophonist and university alumnus, will perform.

Artown is a nonprofit organization that derives much of its support from sponsors, foundations, and individual donors. Its mission is not only to uplift local artists in the Reno community, but also to encourage creative participation to showcase the best multidisciplinary arts in northern Nevada.
