Boxers fall in straight sets

PORTLAND, Oregon- The University of the Pacific volleyball team fell in straight sets Saturday night to Lewis and Clark (4-6, 2-2 NWC), 23-25, 21-25, 24-26.
Although the Boxers fell in straight sets, the game proved to be tight throughout, as there were 17 tied points and nine lead changes throughout the game.
The Pioneers recorded 50 kills in the game against 36 for the Boxers. Despite the loss, the Boxers recorded more blocks and aces in the game than the hosts.
The Mid-Pacific blockers had a great night with 16 kills in the game. Elika Unti (Castro Valley, CA) had eight kills, a team record. Setter Shaianne Cambra (Kapolei, HI) recorded their third consecutive double-double, registering 26 assists and 18 digs in the match in three sets.
