Connecting the dots between marketers, celebrities, athletes, etc.
When MM+M introduced its “6 Degrees of Medical Marketing” feature in 2019, no one really knew what to expect. Anecdotally, we knew that some of the most prominent people in the industry had professional networks that extended far beyond the worlds of health and wellness. What we weren’t sure was if these people would discuss these connections in a public forum.
We shouldn’t have worried: in the age of LinkedIn, professional and personal connections are more or less part of the public record. And so it was that our first three iterations of “6 Degrees” featured quite a few names in bold that you don’t often see on MM+M’s pages or on its digital channels, including Mick Jagger, Meryl Streep, Peter Dinklage, Quincy Jones and Martha Stewart.
It only took the second year of the feature film before the patron saint of “6 Degrees” himself, Kevin Bacon, made an appearance (courtesy of a health media pundit who works at moonlight as a film producer). Will we mention this in every “6 Degrees” intro until the end of time? Indeed, we will.
Without further ado, we proudly present to you this year’s list of “6 Degrees” of celebrities and medical marketing-adjacent relationships. Will Smith, Rachel Maddow and John Leguizamo join the club.
