Greseth at work Milestone Game Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS – Gopher male hockey staff to take career milestone on Saturday night as equipment manager Lee greseth will play in his 1,000th regular-season game in the NCAA, according to the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers.
A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Greseth is in his 29th season as a full-time equipment manager between Minnesota, Denver, North Dakota, Alaska Anchorage and Colorado College. Winning a letter from the University of Minnesota as a student manager under Doug Woog, Greseth is in his 13th season with the Maroon & Gold since returning to the Gophers in 2009.
“Lee is just a big hearted man, if you’ve been with him. He works extremely hard, and I hope our guys will treat him with the utmost respect because he deserved it,” said the Minnesota head coach. Bob motzko noted. “He goes about his business as efficiently and as quietly as any guy I have known.”
Greseth’s contributions to the Gopher Hockey program are also not lost among those in the locker room.
“Lee is the unsung hero of Gopher Hockey, and we’re so lucky to have him. He runs this place like a candy store with everything you could possibly want or need, and he does an amazing job taking care of it. everyone in the program, “Team captain Jack LaFontaine noted. “He’s a guy who is always there when you need him, and he always has a smile on his face. He’s so respected and appreciated, he’s such a character, and I love him to death.”
The Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers only registers regular season competitions as a full-time staff member. Exhibition games, conferences and NCAA tournaments do not count towards game totals.
