Michigan closed the Big Ten Championships with a total of 305 teams to finish 13th with a total of 934 54 holes.
“Graduated student Brent Ito (78-76-77) and senior Charlie pilon (74-80-77) led the Wolverines to tie for 34th place in their final conference tournament with 231 total of 54 holes.

CARMEL, Ind. – With three 76s and two 77s counted by Wolverines in the final round, the University of Michigan men’s golf team posted their 305-best Big Ten tournament total of 305 on Sunday (May 2) to finish 13th with a total of 934 championships at Crooked. Stick Golf Club.

After strong 20 mph winds hampered play for the 14-team field in Friday’s opening 18, UM used a 74 (+2) senior tag team tournament. Charlie pilon to display a total of 319 teams and position themselves in 14th. As the wind picked up for Saturday’s second round, Maize and Bleu lost nine strokes to add up to a total of 310 teams as a graduate student. Brent Ito and first year student Will anderson each carded 76 and helped the Wolverines climb from one spot to 13th.

Like Anderson, junior Patrick sullivan and first year student Jude kim carded 76s, while Ito and Pilon had 77s, the Wolverines gave up five more shots to close the championships with a 305 and remain 13th with a total of 934 54 holes.

Ito and Pilon used their experience to lead the Wolverines as they were both tied for 34th with 231 results in their final conference tournament. Ito shot rounds of 78, 76 and 77, while Pilon had scores of 74, 80 and 77. Pilon led the tournament field with 40 starts in his 54 holes, while Ito had 33.

Anderson recovered from his opening 81 with 76 back-to-back as he was tied for 42nd at 233. After substituting for the first year Jack O’Donnell for the second round, Kim made his first appearance for the Wolverines since mid-February. He responded with a 79 in the second round before using five birdies to shoot a career-low 76 in the last round. Sullivan was 62nd at 243 (86-79-76).

After the Wolverines end at the Big Ten Tournament, their season is over.
