SHELTON, Conn. (February 11, 2022) – Brendan Nehmer continued their strong streak of play by scoring their third goal in four games, however, it wasn’t enough as Stonehill fell to Post University, 4-1 on Friday night at Northeast-10 Conference action at the Connecticut Sports Center.

The details:

  • Stonehill had an opportunity early in the game when they tied the power play just under two minutes (01:41) into the game, but they were just able to get the puck past the Eagles goaltender, Brandon Brown.
  • With both teams having a hard-fought first period, Post struck first at 16:30 when John Krapian deflected the shot Harrison Sheldon in the net for the 1-0 lead before intermission.
  • However, the Skyhawks responded shortly after the second period (05:21) when John Peloso swung the puck to Nehmer. Once Nehmer got the puck back, he sent his shot past Brown and tied things up in one shot. Nehmer now leads the team with ten goals and Peloso is tied with Nehmer in assists (nine).
  • 13 minutes later (18:21), Post regained the lead when Chase Lapworth fed Michel Gethings a pass in front of the net where he nailed his shot for the 2-1 lead.
  • The Skyhawks once again had a chance to regain their momentum when they drew another power play opportunity with just under a minute left (00:59) in the frame. Both Kyle Heath and Max Pineo received shots during the power play but unfortunately couldn’t find the equalizer.
  • Despite the Eagles doubling in shots in the third period (14-7), Post ended up adding two more goals on the sticks of Evan Lugo (00:47) and patrick murphy (18:53) to give them the 4-1 victory. In the evening, the guardian of Stonehill, jeans day recorded 27 backups. In Day’s last four games he’s played in, he’s made 25 or more saves.
