At Middlesex Community College, students complete their education and graduate at a pace that best fits their schedules and deadlines. Well-planned program and path options, affordable prices, accelerated and flexible course formats, and an easy transfer process with MassTransfer help Middlesex put students on the path to success.

“Our goal at MCC is to make education easier and less overwhelming,” said Bryan Wint, MCC Deputy Dean, Pathway & Academic Advising. “MCC’s programs and pathways are designed to reflect the individual needs and goals of students, while meeting the standards set by four-year colleges and universities. Starting in Middlesex and taking advantage of MassTransfer, students receive a high-quality education, a tight-knit and supportive community, and an easy transition to their next school, all while saving money on tuition. “

Students who complete more than 60 credits at MCC and use MassTransfer save an average of 28-40% on their bachelor’s degree. Middlesex students can also save money by signing up for mini-mester sessions. Eight-week crash courses allow students to take more courses in a semester.

Middlesex offers two mini-mester sessions per semester in the fall and spring. The sessions cover the same content, maintain the same academic standards, and have the same number of teaching hours as the courses scheduled during the 15-week semester.

Dr Winny Oyamo-Twombly, deputy director of the Academic Council and Academic Paths at MCC, recalls a student who told him that one of the advantages of mini-masters was being able to focus on a course “for a while. short period and do it quickly “.

With the Fall Mini-mester II starting Monday, November 1, students don’t have to wait to start their academic journey. “The mini-mester courses offer students a great way to start with a few lessons and not fail to progress to their degree,” said Oyamo-Twombly.

Created to keep students on track to achieve their goals, MCC’s pathways and programs enable students to meet the requirements of general education, discover their major of study, and earn transferable college credit. Students also have access to small class sizes, personalized attention, comprehensive student support services, and academic, professional and transfer advice.

After gaining a solid foundation and an associate’s degree during their first two years of study at MCC, students can transfer their credits to any Massachusetts state college or university through MassTransfer. The program aims to reward students who start at a community college.

Using the A2B (Associate to Bachelor’s) mapped and linked programs allows students who achieve a GPA 2.0 or higher to have a guaranteed credit transfer. They also don’t have to complete an application fee or write an essay in order to transfer. With a GPA of 2.5 or higher, students have guaranteed admission to a public school, and those with a GPA of 3.0 or higher receive a MassTransfer 100 percent tuition credit.

The Commonwealth A2B Degree Plus Pledge provides even more incentives for students to start in Middlesex and transfer to a public school. These can include a tuition freeze for four years and a 10 percent end-of-semester discount. Eligible students have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, attend full-time, and enroll in the program after earning their first 15 credits.

Mini-Masters offer a variety of topics, as well as on-campus, online, and hybrid course formats. Before moving on to a four-year school through MassTransfer, students can explore majors to get a better idea of what they want to pursue for their education and career while starting at a time that works best for them and matches them. to their schedule.

Please note that Middlesex requires all students to be vaccinated in order to come to campus, effective January 2022. Unvaccinated students can still choose to take online classes and access online resources and support services to students.

Register for the Fall 2021 Mini-mester II from Monday, November 1. For more information visit www.middlesex.mass.edu/registration/ or call 1-800-818-3434.
