(KNSI) – Students attending a Minnesota state university or college will see higher tuition fees this school year.
The Minnesota state board on Wednesday approved the system’s budget, adding a system-wide average tuition increase of 3.4%.
At St. Cloud Technical and Community College, tuition will increase 3% from $ 168.57 per credit hour to $ 173.63 per credit hour. Undergraduates at St. Cloud State University will see their tuition fees increase by 3.5%.
Evolution of costs at the SCSU by type of education:
- Each credit of less than 12 credit hours / semester: $ 297.82 increases to $ 308.24 (+ $ 10.42)
- Bundled rate for 12-18 credits / semester: $ 3,807.80 to $ 3,941.08 (+ $ 133.27)
- Each credit above 18 credit hours / semester: $ 320 to $ 331.20 (+ $ 11.20)
With this new rate, a SCSU student taking between 12 and 18 credit hours per semester will pay $ 266.54 more in tuition this year than last year.
The move comes shortly after the University of Minnesota board of trustees approved a 1.5% tuition hike.
