Minutewomen fall to Tigers 15-9

PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Massachusetts women’s lacrosse team (16-4) lost to the Princeton Tigers (15-3) 15-9 on Friday night.

Olivia Muscella led the effort with two goals for the Minutewomen, while Haley ConnaughtonKelly Mara, Quinn Daly, Charlotte Wilmoth, Mady Moloneyand Fiona McGowan all found the net for the Minutewomen.

In the defensive effort, it was Connaughton who led the charge with three provoked turnovers, followed by Ally Murphy with two. Jordan Dean the effort in the circle tied her season and career eight draw checks and won the battle in the circle for the Minutewomen 15-12.

Kayla Sears led the Tiger effort with four goals and one assist. The turnover margin remained close, with a 20-19 advantage for the hosts.

Princeton took an early lead, going up 2-1, but the Minutewomen kept coming, heading for a 10-5 break.

The Minutewomen again narrowed the score in third at 11-7, but the Tigers held on for the 15-9 victory.
