Moratorium on tuition fees, student loans pushed
Manila, Philippines – The Makabayan bloc is pushing for emergency student aid and relief such as a moratorium on tuition fees, waivers on student loans and cash assistance to help cover school fees.
The unnumbered Block House Bill, or Student Emergency Aid and Relief Act, also seeks to provide a one-time P 10,000 grant and other student aid amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The measure aims to help students cope with the costs of alternative learning modes, such as tuition fees, other tuition fees, gadgets and internet connectivity.
