San Antonio cooling centers open ahead of 100 degree heat
With triple-digit heat en route to San Antonio, the city has opened cooling centers for those who need protection from rising temperatures.
Cooling centers across the city are open during normal business hours. Libraries are used as cooling centers, as are buildings associated with the city’s Parks and Recreation and Social Services departments. There are about 60 locations across the city designated as cooling centers, according to a building map on the city’s Office of Emergency Management website.
