The heat period rises to temperatures near 90 degrees this week

It’s going to be a week with very hot temperatures all over Michigan. Some temperature records should be broken. There’s even a city that now has a high temperature forecast of 90 degrees.
The heat wave forecast for this week will reach its hottest level on Friday, with Thursday being very close to Friday.
Below is the forecast for high temperatures each day from tomorrow May 10th to Sunday May 15th.
The wind flow this week will occasionally have a slight southeasterly component. As the southeast wind blows off Lake Huron, the eastern inch and northeast corner of lower Michigan will experience slightly cooler temperatures.
Tuesday is expected to warm into the low 80s along the western third of Lower Michigan, from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids to Traverse City.

Wednesday will see a slight change in wind direction to blow from the south. This will take away the cooler temperatures in the thumb. Ann Arbor, Detroit and the Lower Southeast will warm to around 80 degrees on Wednesday. The rest of Lower Michigan will hit the mid-80s.

Thursday should be a summer day across Michigan. Traverse City can touch 90 degrees. The rest of Lower Michigan will have highs between 84 degrees and 87 degrees.

Friday has the highest temperature forecast at any location for the week. The temperature forecast for Traverse City for Friday is 91 degrees. There will be many cities that reach 86 degrees or 87 degrees.

The next rainmaker is expected late Saturday or Sunday. Saturday will still be warm for this time of year.

Sunday, although cooler, it will be even warmer than normal. Temperatures will warm up to the mid 70s. At the moment it looks like there could be showers.

Now that’s a hot forecast for the first half of May. Many cities will have three to four straight days of temperatures of 80 degrees or warmer. There will be several record high temperatures on Thursday and Friday.
