BUFFALO, NY – Dharshan Jayasinghe, BA ’03, was elected to a two-year term as president of the University of Buffalo Alumni Association, a group that represents the interests of more than 280,000 graduates around the world.

Jayasinghe, originally from Sri Lanka, is President and CEO of bizWin Strategies, which provides business intelligence, strategic consulting and executive search solutions for multiple industries; and Triad Healthcare Recruiting, a provider of clinical recruitment and executive search solutions for the healthcare industry.

Both companies have expanded their market share to support clients in 15 states, and in 2019, Triad Healthcare Recruiting committed $ 100,000 to establish the ASCEND Triad Healthcare Recruitment Fellowship for Healthcare Professions at UB.

Jayasinghe succeeds Gary Jastrzab, BA ’76 as chairman of the board. Jastrzab will continue to serve on the board as past president.

Jayasinghe, who is also a graduate of UB’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL), held various positions on the board of directors before being elected president, including that of special advisor to the philanthropy committee and member finance, management, engagement and audit committees.

In addition, he has served on numerous boards of directors in the western New York State community including the American Heart Association, Buffalo Club, Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, and Vistage International. He is also a member of the UB Advancement Council and the UB School of Management’s MBA Healthcare Advisory Board, and is a mentor for the UB CEL program.

“I am motivated to take on the role of President of UBAA during this exciting time,” Jayasinghe said. “Our Boldly Buffalo campaign is heading towards a historic goal of $ 1 billion as we strive to rank among the top 25 public research universities in the country. Our student-athletes are increasingly recognized nationally, and our graduates impact almost every aspect of our global economy. I am proud to engage our global alumni population to achieve these goals. “

The other officers elected for the 2020-22 term are:

President-elect, Joseph Stefko, PhD ’03, MA ’99, BA ’97, from Penfield, NY, President and CEO of ROC2025.
