By India Today Web Desk: With Delhi’s minimum temperature having dropped by four degrees in the previous four days, India’s Meteorological Department (IMD) has hinted that the winter season has officially slipped away. According to the IMD, the sudden drop in temperatures can be attributed to the western disturbance moving out of the region, making way for colder winds.
“In association with the Western Disturbance, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall over the western Himalayan region and isolated light rainfall over the adjacent plains on November 14, 2022 and a significant reduction thereafter” , said the IMD.
According to the long-term average (LPA), the average normal minimum temperature for the nation’s capital between November 12 and 16 is 13.6 degrees Celsius. Notably, Delhi’s temperature hit the 10 degree mark on Saturday, according to IMD forecasts. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Sunday was 12.6 degrees Celsius. The nation’s capital touched 14.6 degrees on Friday and 16.8 degrees on Thursday.
The IMD said the minimum temperature could see a rise in the next two days, but will be followed by a further drop closer to the weekend.
Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to be around 13 degrees until Wednesday, before touching 12 degrees on Thursday, around 11 degrees on Friday and 10 degrees on Saturday.
The IMD has forecast a drop in most parts of Odisha’s temperature of 3 to 4 degrees. The state meteorological agency predicted that the skies over Bhubaneswar would be clear throughout the day and turn cloudy towards the evening.
In Hyderabad, the temperature is expected to plunge, with no clouds in the sky and a pinch in the air towards evening.
