Women’s rowing concludes competition at Sunshine State Invitational

SARASOTA, Florida. – The Drexel University women’s rowing team finished their competition at the Sunshine State Invitational with three performances in the Grand Finals on Saturday morning.

Opening the day, the V8+ team from Nathalie Cleri (helmsman), Grace Comerford (cerebrovascular accident), Hayley McKeever, Alexandra Natale, Kirby Droogan, Isabella d’Angelo, Mollie Knoff, Hunt for Giavannaand Kayla Driscoll (bow) placed fourth with a time of 6:33.38, just 0.27 behind third place Tulsa.

Then in the 2V8+ final, the Dragons finished third, with a time of 6:38.3, less than two seconds behind Louisville and more than two seconds ahead of Iowa.

In the final race for Drexel, DU placed fifth in the V4+ Grand Final with a time of 7:33.25.

The Dragons will be back next Saturday, April 9, when they travel to Cherry Hill, New Jersey to compete in the Knecht Cup Regatta on the Cooper River.
