Women’s tennis to continue fall schedule at Buckeye Invitational
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – Penn State’s women’s tennis team will travel to Columbus to compete in the Buckeye Invitational. The tournament will start on Friday October 14 and end on Sunday October 16.
The Blue and Whites plan to send Danielle Alamo, Olivia Dorner, Karly Friedland, Ioana Gheorgita, Carla Girbau and Alina Lebedevaat the tournament.
“We started very strong this fall and worked hard to create a culture of energy. The team worked on it every day and Ronit and I are excited to continue to see the implementations of training at our games.” , said head coach Alex Anghelescu. “It’s our last event before ITA Regionals, and it’s the perfect tournament for the team to prepare and make a statement at our Big Ten competition.”
Play is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. The tournament is set up in a hidden double format.
The Nittany Lions will face players from Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan and Xavier.
